The day starts where you wake up
On many trips the hotel is the first thing that is settled. It is where you wake up, have breakfast and come back to in the evening. So that is where we start.
But a holiday is more than a room. It is the café where you linger in the morning, the winery in the afternoon, the restaurant you keep an evening free for, and the day you head up into the mountains. So alongside each hotel we show the places worth visiting nearby.
We would rather cover a few destinations well than show a little of everywhere.

Hotels
Places with a character of their own — in the architecture, the interiors, the kitchen or the setting. They do not have to be small or owner-run.
Restaurants and cafés
Cafés, bars, restaurants and wineries you can visit without staying the night, within easy reach of the hotels.
Day trips
Anything further away is clearly marked as a day trip, so you know to plan a separate day or a drive for it.
Destinations
Regions where hotels, restaurants and day trips add up to a holiday. We publish a destination guide once that selection is complete.
