The Story
Panificio Lemayr is one of Bolzano's historic bakeries — the kind of place that has been feeding the city's mornings long before specialty coffee existed. The bread is serious, the pastries reflect both Austrian and Italian tradition, and the Italian espresso is exactly what you want after arriving from the mountains.
This is a morning ritual, not a tourism stop.
Signature Items

Vinschgauer Brot
The flat rye bread of the Vinschgau valley — caraway, fennel, dense. The most Tyrolean thing you can eat.

Kipferl
Not a croissant — a Kipferl. The Austrian version, denser, more butter, better with coffee.

Espresso
Italian rules apply here — short, strong, no lid.
The Feeling
Feels like
A local morning — the city buying its bread before going to work.
Best time
Early morning, 7–9am
Music
The sound of the city starting.
Perfect for
The CinCin Notes
Lemayr is how you start a Bolzano morning properly. Buy the Vinschgauer bread to take with you, have an espresso at the counter, be out by 9am. Don't sit — standing at the counter is the right way.
