Renting Manoir Laurette near Bordeaux: a country house for ten
Renting Manoir Laurette near Bordeaux for exclusive use: rooms and beds, cooking and catering, celebrations, rental dates and costs.
A week with only your own friends and family around the breakfast table. A milestone birthday, a reunion, or simply time together somewhere with room for everyone.
Renting a whole house makes that possible—but the sleeping arrangements matter as much as the setting. Before booking, work out who shares a bed, who cooks and whether the house allows the celebration you have in mind.
Manoir Laurette, a 19th-century country house in the hamlet of Lorette, on the border between the Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne, usually operates as a five-room B&B. In 2026 the owners, Lora and Rob, gave the B&B a year off. The house was available for exclusive rental in summer 2026. For 2027, ask Lora and Rob to confirm availability, minimum stays and what’s included.

Rooms and beds
Five double rooms sleep ten adults. Four rooms have en-suite bathrooms; Gypsy Queen has a private bathroom across the hall. No twin beds are listed: every room has a large double, either king or super king. If anyone would prefer separate beds, ask before you book. That makes the house best suited to five couples, or to a family with grown-up children and their partners.
The rooms differ in layout and character, so it’s worth agreeing who sleeps where before you arrive. The Gardener looks out over the garden and pond, and has a freestanding bath and a metre-long basin. Gypsy Queen has a Portuguese iron bed converted into a four-poster. The house is listed for ten adults; if you’re bringing children, talk through numbers and beds when you enquire.
Cooking and catering
Whole-house rental includes a large, well-equipped kitchen, a barbecue and an Ooni pizza oven in the garden. Ask whether breakfast can be provided during a whole-house stay, and whether the owners can arrange a cook or catering.
Shopping is easy. The bastide towns of Monségur and Duras are a few minutes away, with weekly markets selling local produce. Summer also brings evening markets with regional dishes and music; in Monségur they’re held under the old market hall, among artists, craftspeople and producers. It’s an easy way to spend an evening when nobody in the group has to cook.

Celebrations
Can you host a celebration? Yes, by arrangement. The owners also offer the house and garden for private events. Weddings, courses, gourmet evenings and wine tours are all possible, with the package tailored to the occasion. Find out what’s possible for your event before you book. In your enquiry, give the date, how many guests will join the ten staying, and whether you’re planning a caterer or music. Two questions people often forget: how late the party can go on, and what extra costs apply.
The garden has mature trees, among them apple, fig and walnut, a large stone pond with fish, frogs and pink water lilies, and a heated pool ringed with lavender. Ten heritage-breed chickens roam the garden, and bats come out at dusk.
Rental dates and costs
In peak season 2026 the house was let by the week, Friday to Friday; outside those weeks, shorter stays such as a long weekend were possible on request. The owners quoted 3,500 to 4,800 euros a week for the whole house; split between ten adults, that’s 350 to 480 euros each. Those were the terms for the B&B’s year off, so ask for the 2027 rate when you enquire. Email is the quickest way to reach them: the owners specifically ask for it, as they can’t always get to the phone.
Getting there and days out
The Manoir is in the countryside, an hour’s drive from Bordeaux. You’ll need transport for shopping and day trips. For ten guests, compare the cost of several hire cars with a pre-booked group transfer. Two places make a good day out together:
- Château de Duras, a few minutes away: the first castle was built on a rocky spur in 1137, and today’s château combines medieval and Renaissance architecture.
- Saint-Émilion, 45 minutes by car: the former Jurisdiction of Saint-Émilion and its vineyards have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
Prefer your own space?
Groups who prefer separate accommodation but want to spend their days together will find four chalets, each for two adults, at Nebesa in Slovenia’s Soča Valley. It suits a quiet group trip, though the terms are different from renting a whole house. Breakfast ingredients and snacks are provided; for a hot dinner, order catering or book a table elsewhere.
