Where you sleep
The rooms and suites are spread across the main house, the garden wing and the Residence, which is not directly connected to the main building. Categories range from a 21-square-metre Residence room to the 75-square-metre Rooftop Suite with its large terrace.
Rooms have oak floors and a yoga mat, and many have an open-plan bathroom. There are works by the artist Hannes Egger in the rooms.
The interiors are by Christina Biasi-von Berg of Studio Biquadra in Merano. The building dates from 1981 and has been extensively renovated several times since 2015.

At the table
At La Fucina, Andreas Pircher cooks breakfast and dinner, with vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free or gluten-free options on request. Vegetables, fruit and herbs come from the hotel's own Arnica Acker field and from producers in the region.
During the day, Bistro Luce serves small dishes; the bar is open until midnight. The current dinner menu is online.
In between
The outdoor pool is 20 metres long, heated all year round and looks out over the vineyards. There's also an indoor pool, a cold plunge pool, a bio sauna, an outdoor Finnish sauna and a steam room. Yoga is on the programme several times a day, with a guided hike once a week; bikes are available at the hotel.
The 1477 Reichhalter is only a few minutes' walk away. You can walk through town to the cable car up to the Vigiljoch.

This inn in upper Lana, the Schwarzschmied's partner house, is open from breakfast to dinner. Since 2018 head chef Andreas Heinisch has cooked inn food with a Mediterranean streak from a short menu that changes monthly – this autumn, ravioli al plin or venison tataki – and at lunch locals and visitors share the historic dining room.
Othmar Raich runs the restaurant at Kränzelhof, an estate with seven art gardens and an organic winery. The kitchen follows the seasons, herbs and rare vegetables come from the restaurant's own garden, and the wine list puts rare bottles next to the estate's own.

In Völlan, Christian Pircher cooks food that sits between the Alps and the Mediterranean, à la carte or as a four-, five- or six-course menu; there are always vegetarian dishes, and vegan on request. In summer you eat on the terrace among the greenery, otherwise in the Ultner Stube.

Kuntrawant roasts its own coffee in Lana, and the café sits right inside the roastery: espresso and filter coffee from their own beans, with cakes from their own pastry kitchen. You can take the beans home too.
